Update: March 8, 2009: We're working on the photo gallery for the 2009 convention, including the Photo Studio Gallery for people who had their photos taken with the guests of honor on Saturday and Sunday morning. Now that the 2010 website is up, expect updates to happen on the photograph front in the next week. Thanks for your patience! Convention Wrap-Up / Post-Mortem
It's all over... Gallifrey 2009 is now a memory! We are delighted to announce that the 2009 Gallifrey One convention, Gallifrey One: 20 To Life featured 1,347 attendees... the largest Gallifrey One convention ever. Terrific guests, great volunteers and an enthusiastic fan base contributed to a fabulous celebration of Doctor Who throughout the weekend. What a lovely surprise we had Friday afternoon when our two Torchwood guests expanded to three, as Naoko Mori (Tosh) stopped by for the panel, joining Gareth David-Lloyd and Kai Owen. Meanwhile, Daphne Ashbrook came down Sunday morning for the Podshock event, so there were two other great drop-in guests in addition to our lineup. Last minute addition Amber Benson from "Buffy" stayed all afternoon Saturday at her table... even Judy and Deborah May (Bob May's widow and daughter) came for the charity auction Sunday with some memorabilia that helped raise nearly $3,000 for the American Cancer Society! So many great memories: Phil Collinson tending bar at the Volcano party, Kai Owen singing Welsh songs at karaoke (and that marvelous skit he and Gareth did at the wonderful toga party), Toby Hadoke's sensational Saturday night show preceded by the biggest Masquerade we've ever done, a fantastic selection of music at the Saturday night dance (and we even had our own 'fiery volcano' cocktail from the cash bar!), the wonderful crafts the kids were able to make at the children's room (they even got to make sonic screwdrivers!)... so many things people will take away from this wonderful weekend. And now... the long road to our next event begins, as Gallifrey Conventions is proud to present Gallifrey One: Blackjack 21, a.k.a. Gallifrey 2010, February 19-21, 2010 at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott Hotel. Our first announced guest is Peter Davison, the fifth Doctor Who! Important Post-Convention Notes
Pre-Registration for Gallifrey 2010 and 2010 Website: The website for the 2010 convention will be up in the next few days. Pre-registration for Gallifrey 2010 will begin via PayPal and regular mail as soon as the page is up. We are carrying over the $45.00 price on pre-registration that was offered at this past year's convention to 2010! Convention Photo Studio: Photos will be available on this website in the next week or so; we're installing a new photo gallery that will allow them to be uploaded and browsed through. You will be able to check directly online here. Photos Welcome: Do you have photos of the convention, especially of our guests? Please email us and let us know... we are anxious to get them and would like to add your photos to our new photo gallery! Postcards: Did you receive a postcard for this year's convention? If you didn't, would you like to be on our mailing list for next year? Send e-mail to gallifrey@postcardart.info and we'll make sure you get the postcards as we print them. Or use the online sign-up form on www.postcardart.info. Meanwhile, if you'd like to submit a design for Gallifrey 2010, please give it a shot. If we pick your art, we'll send you something special! Perhaps the most important rule is we can't use pictures (or drawings, or cartoon caricatures) of actors that aren't confirmed guests. The rest of the rules, as well as samples of previous postcard designs, can be found at the website. About Gallifrey One
